What next for Tunisia and its Jews?
With the fall of their ‘protector’ President
Ben-Ali, what will happen to the Jews of Tunisia? What are the
prospects for Djerba’s 1,200 Jews and the survival of the
Tunisian Jewish community as a whole? Who will succeed Ben Ali
and what are the repercussions for the Arab world?
Harif, Hampstead Garden Suburb Synagogue and Spiro Ark are delighted
to present an up-to the-minute analysis by Dr Saul Zadka, who was
in Tunisia at the start of the riots.
Arabic-speaking Dr Zadka knows the Djerba community well. He is
an Israeli author, academic, broadcaster and former London Haaretz correspondent. He has travelled to Egypt and Morocco and experienced
Seder night in Tunisia, Yemen and Indonesia.
