Music composed by Iraqi Jews living in Baghdad but suppressed by various regimes from the 1950s through to Saddam Hussein’s Ba’ath Party rule. Iraqi-Australian writer Majid Shokor finds many of the old musicians living in Israel, the UK and Denmark and reconnects with the music of his childhood in Baghdad, culminating in a concert at the Barbican in London.
